PORTFOLIO

This portfolio brings together a selection of charcoal drawings that explore stillness, human connection, and the way identity forms through lived experience. The works focus on moments that are often overlooked, pauses, hesitations, quiet relationships, and internal shifts that shape how people carry themselves through the world.

My practice is rooted in close observation and reflection. I am interested in how silence operates within the body, how responsibility and care are learned through proximity, and how the self is experienced as something incomplete and continually forming. Many of these drawings begin from small, personal observations, a gesture, an object, a moment of restraint, and gradually develop into studies of emotional pressure, memory, and presence.

Working primarily in charcoal allows me to balance softness and control, building images slowly through tone, erasure, and accumulation. Across the portfolio, the drawings resist narrative resolution. Instead, they invite stillness and attention, creating space for viewers to recognise familiar feelings held quietly within their own experiences.
